Immediate Needs

As a nonprofit organization we rely on volunteers just like our CFO Sam, and me as a co-founder and President of “The American Iron-Clad Monitor Project Inc.” All potential future proceeds and funding directly support The AIMP’s mission, and our volunteer hours go a long way at accomplishing this historic tribute to an incredible piece of California’s, and our Nation’s, fight for Freedom & Liberty!

I know as well as anyone that good intentions and volunteer hours do not pay the bills and put life’s constant stressors at bay - if volunteering is not an option, please message us to see how you can otherwise impact the projects!

• Social Media & Marketing: Overall Project & USICS Camanche Replica

• Digital Modeling Specialists: Four unique ACW Era Projects

  • Create a digital model of Trent’s Reach of the James River per E.G. Fowx’s photographs from March 1865 including all Iron-Clads present, the “Crow’s Nest” observation & signaling tower, and artillery batteries.

  • Create a digital model that illustrates USICS Weehawken’s foundering and the following century-plus of attempted recovery, salvage, archaeology, and her current disposition.

  • Create a digital model that illustrates USICS Patapsco’s sinking and the following century-plus of salvage, archaeology, and her current disposition.

  • Create a digital model of Station Creek, Bay Point Island, Port Royal Sound, South Carolina and Admiral Dupont’s Floating Machine Shop and various land-based maintenance facilities.

  • The interior lighting and overall conditions of the Camanche’s interior spaces will need to be at least slightly better than she was originally designed to provide for the brave sailors who manned the Navy’s Monitors.
